Pressing the playback button on the back of the camera allows you to view all of the images and videos that are saved on the camera's memory card. The INFO button on the back allows you to change the amount of information that is shown about your images, including a full-color histogram.

Turning the back command dial clockwise while in playback mode takes you to the camera's index mode. Here you can view and search through thumbnails of the images and videos that are on the memory card. Turning it again will take you to a calendar view that allows you to view your images based on the date they were taken.

Turning the command dial the other way, or pushing the magnify button on the back of the camera allows you to zoom in on your images up to 14x. Once you have zoomed in, you can use the 4-way controller to scroll around the image. This is a great way to check the focus and fine details of the images, especially on the PEN-F's high-res screen. The box in the lower right shows you the area that is being magnified, in relation to the entire captured image.

The playback menu gives you a few simple options for the slideshow playback, image rotation, edit menu, print order, image protection and connecting to a smartphone.

The playback quick menu is accessed by pressing the OK button on the 4-way controller. Here you have options to edit, print and protect the images on the SD card.

The edit menu provides you with a couple options for easy image editing. The shadow adjust feature brings out detail from the darker areas of your image. Redeye fix will remove redness from your subject's eyes. Crop and aspect allow you to change the overall image and there are also several settings to change and adjust the image's color.

Your recorded movies can be played back on the camera's LCD screen, allowing you to watch them anywhere. With an optional HDMI cable, you can connect to any HDTV to view your images and 1080p HD videos. The camera offers frame-by-frame playback to give you total control.
