Program AUTO mode offers fully automatic control over the exposure process for point-n-
shoot simplicity, and can used by anyone regardless of their experience level. The brackets in the center
indicate the focus area, there is capacity for 72 more images on the xD memory card, and the image size/quality is
SHQ 2560x1920.
When you half-press the shutter the focus is locked, a green icon is displayed to indicate focus
was achieved. The red "lightning bolt" indicates the flash is charged and will fire.
Rotating the Mode dial gives access to the camera's various exposure modes: Program Auto, Image Stabilization,
Portrait, Landscape, Night Scene, Self portrait and Movie.
The 4-way controller is used for changing the camera's Self-timer, EV Compensation and macro focus settings; these function
menus are displayed for a few seconds on the color LCD after each button is depressed.
The Macro (close-up) focus mode lets you shoot from 7.9" - 19.7" (0.2m - 0.5m) or you can get as
close as 0.8" (20mm) when using Super Macro mode.
The Movie record mode screen. The total amount of recording time available
is shown by the green "23:32" in the lower right hand corner. We have
enough space on the xD card we used for our tests to record for 23 min. and
32 seconds. You can record movies at resolutions of 320x240 or 160x120 without
audio. The length of recording is limited only by the amount of space
available on the xD card. The zoom can be preset before recording, but it
can not be changed during recording.
Movies can be recorded at 320x240 or 160x120 at 15 frames per second without sound.
Pressing the MENU button while in any still recording mode allows you to access the
FE115's Menu system.
