Olympus E-620 Record Menus

Here you can see a screen taken while using Live View mode. It looks much like a consumer digicam with icons that indicate we are using Auto exposure mode, shutter speed (60) and aperture (F3.6), Imager AF mode (I-AF), Digital ESP metering, Large Fine + RAW quality, images are being saved to the CF card, and there's enough room on that card for 715 frames at the current configuration.

When AF locks, it will briefly show the intended area of focus (not shown), and a Green AF ready dot will appear in the upper right hand corner of the screen.

The above animation shows the different screen/info options available in Live View by pressing the INFO button. These options include Information Display On, Histogram Display, Zoom Display, Scale Display, Image Only, and Multi View Display.

When you turn the Mode Dial to the ART/SCENE position you will first be shown a menu of the available Art filter/modes (Pop Art, Soft Focus, Pale and Light Color, Grainy Film, Light Tone and Pin Hole Camera filter). These filter options allow you to explore your creativity, with various presets for exposure, color, sharpness and white balance settings.

There are also 18 Scene modes available: Portrait, Landscape, Landscape + Portrait, Night Scene, Night + Portrait, Children, Sport, High Key, Low Key, Digital Image Stabilization, Macro, Nature Macro, Candle, Sunset, Fireworks, Documents, Panorama (only available when using an Olympus xD-Picture Card), Beach & Snow. First you see a large sample image which then shrinks down to make room for the text explanation of the mode.

Camera 1 menu options:

• Card Setup - All Erase or Format
• Custom Reset - When powered up the camera will be reset to one of two custom settings
• Picture Mode - Vivid, Natural, Muted, Portrait, Monotone, or Custom
• Gradation - Auto, High Key, Normal (default), Low Key
• Resolution - RAW, L Fine, L Normal, M Normal, S Normal, RAW+LF/LN/MN/SN
• Image Aspect - 4:3 (default), 6:6, 16:9, or 3:2

Camera 2 menu options:

• Flash Intensity Control - ±3EV with 1/3 EV steps
• Flash RC Mode - On or Off
• Bracketing - Off, 3 frames 0.3EV, 0.7EV, 1.0EV
• Multiple Exposure - Choose AE, WB, FL, or ISO Bracketing options
• Camera Sounds - On or Off

Custom menu options:

(A) AF/MF - AF Illuminator, Focus ring, C-AF Lock, AF Area Pointer, AF Sensitivity, AF Mode,
Reset Lens, AF Area, Live View AF mode, Bulb focusing

(B) Button/Dial - Dial Function, Dial Direction, AEL/AFL, AEL/AFL Memo, Fn, My Mode Setup,
Button Timer, AEL/AFL=Fn, 4-way control function, Burst function

(C) Release/Drive - RLS Priority S, RLS Priority C, Low Frames Per Second


(D) DISP/PC - Video Out, Sleep, Backlit LCD, 4 h Timer, USB Mode, Live View Boost,
Face Detection, INFO Setting

(E) EXP/Metering/ISO - EV Step, Metering mode, AEL Metering, ISO mode, ISO Step,

(F) Flash Custom - X-Sync., Slow Limit, Flash/EV Compensation, Auto Pop Up

(G) Resolution/Aspect/Color/WB - Noise Reduction, Noise Filter, WB mode, All WB, Color Space,
Shading Comp., Set Resolution and Compression, Pixel Count, Aspect Shooting

(H) Record/Erase - Quick Erase, RAW+JPEG Erase, File Name, Priority Setting, dpi Setting,
CF/XD priority

(I) Camera Utility - Pixel Mapping, Cleaning Mode, EXT. WB Detect, AF Focus ADJ.,
Exposure Shift, Battery Warning Level, Swap Sport/Night+Portrait to Underwater Macro/Underwater Wide on the Mode Dial

Setup menu options:

• Time and Date - Set the camera's clock
• Language - Choose the Menu language
• Monitor Brightness - Adjust LCD brightness and color temperature
• Rec View - View on LCD after capture: Auto, Off, 1 - 20 seconds
• Custom Menu Display - Show or hide the Custom settings menu
• Firmware - Display firmware revision number
