When you turn the Mode Dial to the SCENE position you will be shown a menu of the available scene presets. First you see
a large sample image which then shrinks down to make room for the text explanation of the mode. There are 18 Scene modes available:
Portrait, Landscape, Landscape & Portrait, Night Scene, Night Scene & Portrait,Children, Sport, High Key, Low Key,
DIS (compensates for a moving subject such as a sporting event) Macro, Nature Macro, Candle, Sunset, Fireworks, Documents,
Panorama and Beach & Snow.
"Camera 1" menu, accessed from the Menu Direct Button, options:
- Card Setup - All Erase or Format
- Custom Reset Setting - When powered up the camera will be reset to
one of two custom settings
- Picture Mode - Vivid, Natural, Muted/Monotone
- Gradation - High Key, Normal, Low Key
- Resolution - RAW, SHQ, HQ, SQ, RAW+SHQ, RAW+HQ, RAW+SQ
- White Balance - Auto, Sunny, Cloudy, Shade, Tungsten, Fluorescent 1/2/3,
One-Touch or Custom (2000-14000°K)
- ISO - Auto, 100, 200, 400, 800 or 1600
- Noise Filter -Off, Low, Standard or High
- Noise Reduction - On or Off
"Camera 2" menu, accessed from the Menu Direct Button, options:
- Metering - Digital ESP, Center-weighted average, Spot, Hi Spot (highlight control), SH Spot (shadow control)
- Exposure Intensity Control -2 to +2
- Auto Focus Mode - Single AF, Continuous AF, Manual Focus, Single AF + MF, Continuous AF + MF
- Auto Focus Frame Selection - Auto Multi (all 3), Left, Center or Right
- White Balance Bracketing - Off, 3 frames, 2 steps, 4 steps or 6 steps
- Flash Bracketing - Off, 3 frames 0.3EV, 3 frames 0.7EV, 3 frames 1.0EV
- Anti-Shock - Off, 1 sec to 30 sec
"Setup 1" menu, accessed from the Menu Direct Button, options:
- ISO Limit - 100, 200, 400
- EV Step - 1/3, 1/2 or 1 EV for shutter speed, aperture, exposure compensation
- ALL WB - Clear All or Set All white balance compensation
- HQ - Set JPEG compression for HQ: 1/4, 1/8 or 1/12
- SQ - Set JPEG compression for SQ: 1/2.7, 1/4, 1/8, 1/12
- Flash Compensation + Exposure Compensation - On or Off
- Speed Sync - 1/60 to 1/180
- Auto Flash Popup - On or Off
- Dial - Control dial function in P mode (Exp Comp or Program Shift) and
M mode (shutter speed or aperture)
- AEL/AFL - AEL button function in S-AF, C-AF and MF modes
- AEL/AFL Memo - AEL Memory On or Off
- AEL Metering - AEL metering mode: Auto, ESP, Center, Center HI, Center SH
- Quick Erase - On or Off

"Setup 2" menu, accessed from the Menu Direct Button, options:
- Time and Date - Set the camera's clock
- CF/xD - Select memory card
- File Name - If Auto it will continuously increment, Reset will reset the numbers
- Edit Filename - Selects file naming convention (RGB, sRGB, month/date/year)
- LCD Brightness - Adjust LCD back light (Low/0/High)
- Language - Menu language
- Video Out - NTSC or PAL format
- Rec View - View on LCD after capture: Off, 1 - 20 seconds
- Sleep - Auto off time: Off, 1 min, 3 min, 5 min, 10 min
- Back lit LCD - How long till LCD dims: 8 sec, 30 sec, 1 min, hold on
- 4 h Timer - 4 h or Off
- Button Timer - 3 sec, 5 sec or Hold on
- Priority Set - Yes or No
- USB Mode - Auto, Storage, MTP, Control, Easy Print (PictBridge) , Custom Print (PictBridge)
- Color Space - sRGB or Adobe RGB
- AEL/AFL - Function button switch - On or Off
- Shading Compensation - Compensate for dark areas at the edge of image
caused by wide angle lenses: On of Off
- Pixel Mapping - Map out bad CCD imager pixels
- Cleaning Mode - Manually initiate ultrasonic CCD filter cleaner, raise mirror
and opens shutter curtain
- Firmware - Display firmware revision number
