Olympus D-540 Zoom Review

Note: Because the D-540 has no video-out port, the color screen images presented on this page
have been copied from the D-580, with any differences noted; the black and
white screen images were copied from the D-540's Operations Manual.
You can playback captured images by pressing the QUICK VIEW button when in record mode,
or sliding the power switch to the playback position.
In the playback menu you can enable the INFO option to display information
including the quality (SHQ), Image Size (2048x1536 for the D-540), Exposure Comp., White Balance, the Date/Time and the File
Folder/File Number.
Press the zoom lens control to the wideangle position to activate the index playback
mode. In the menu you can select the number of images to display per screen
as 4, 9 or 16.
Pressing the zoom control to the telephoto position will enlarge the image on the
screen. There are several magnifications available from 1.5x to 4x. Once the image
is enlarged you can scroll around inside of it using the 4-way jog control.
Pressing the MENU button while in playback mode brings up this screen of options: Slide Show playback Erase - Delete images INFO - Display image information MODE MENU - leads to four sub-menus for PLAY, EDIT, CARD and SETUP: PLAY options:
Rotate - Rotate image 90% left or right Print Order - Select images for future printing Sound not present on D-540 menu EDIT options:

To playback a movie, first select it in review mode, then depress the OK (menu) button.
In the movie playback mode you can playback entire movie clips or frame by frame.
The Mode menu provides an indexing option that allows you to save individual frames
as still pictures.
During playback, the right and left buttons of the 4-way controller are used as
fast-forward and fast-rewind controls.
Information is displayed on total and elapsed time of the clip.
When the camera is connected to a PictBridge-compatible printer, the PRINT MODE SELECT screen is presented on the monitor. You can choose from the following print modes:
All Print - Prints all the pictures stored on the card Multi Print - Prints one picture in a multiple layout format All Index - Prints an index of all pictures stored on the card Print Order - Prints the pictures according to the print reservation data on the card |
