Let's look at how the menu system works. When you press the Menu button on the D60 the LCD displays the menus -
you will use the 4-way Multi Selector to navigate thru the menus. There are 5 setup menus: Playback, Shooting,
Custom, Setup and Retouch.
You'll probably want to view all of the available menu options. To do so you'll enter the Setup menu, select
CSM/Setup Menu, then choose Full. This will allow access to many more options over the Simple
view (default option) which is created for beginners.
To view help on any menu setting, press the Help (question mark) button when an item
is highlighted in the menu or when the option for a Custom Setting
is displayed.
Shooting Menu
Optimize image - Normal, Softer, Vivid, More Vivid, Portrait, Black&White, Custom
Image quality - NEF (RAW), JPEG (Fine, Normal or Basic), NEF (RAW) + JPEG Basic
Image size - Large (3872x2592, 10MP), Medium (2896x1944, 6MP), Small (1936x1296, 2.5MP)
White balance - Auto, Incandescent, Fluorescent, Direct sunlight, Flash, Cloudy, Shade, Preset manual (WB preset)
ISO sensitivity - Auto, 100, 200, 400, 800, 1600, HI 1 (approx. 3200)
Noise Reduction - On or Off
Active D-Lighting - On or Off
Custom Settings
R Reset - Reset all custom settings to default
01 Beep - Off or On; Beep sounds in self-timer and delayed remote modes, when photo is taken
in quick-response remote mode, or when camera has focused in single-servo AF
02 Focus mode - Auto-servo AF, Single-servo AF, Continuous-servo AF, Manual
03 AF-area mode - Closest subject, Dynamic area, Single point
04 Release mode - Single frame, Continuous, Self-timer, Delayed remote, Quick response remote
05 Metering - Matrix, Center-weighted, Spot
06 No Memory Card? - Release locked, Enable release
07 Image Review - Off or On
08 Flash Compensation +1.0EV to -3.0 in 1/3EV steps
09 AF-assist - Off or On
10 ISO Auto - Off, On, Max. sensitivity or Min. shutter speed
11 Self-timer/FUNC button - Choose the function of button
(Self-timer, Release mode, Image size/quality, ISO, White balance)
12 AE-L/AF-L - Specifies the function of the AE / AF Lock button
13 AE Lock - Off= pressing the shutter release button halfway does not lock exposure, On= exposure will lock when pressed halfway
14 Built-in flash - TTL or Manual
15 Auto off timers - Short, Normal, Long, Custom
16 Self-timer - Choose the delay (2, 5, 10 or 20 seconds)
17 Remote on duration - 1, 5, 10 or 15 minutes
18 Date imprint - Off, Date, Date and time, Date counter
17 Rangefinder - Ragefinder function Off or On
Setup Menu
CSM/Setup Menu - Simple (displays basic options), Full (displays all options), My menu (Displayed selected options)
Format Memory Card - Formats the SD card being used
Info display format - Select the Info display mode for Digital Vari-Program or P/S/A/M modes (Classic, Graphic, Wallpaper)
Auto shooting info - On or Off (set for both Digital Vari-Program or P/S/A/M modes)
Shooting info auto off - On or Off
World time - Choose Time zone, Date, Date format, Daylight saving time
LCD brightness - Adjust brightness of the color LCD
Video mode - Video signal format (PAL or NTSC)
Language - Choose menu language
Image comment - Off, Input comment, Attach comment
Folders - Select, New, Rename or Delete image folders
File No. Seq - Off, On, Reset file numbering
Clean image sensor -Clean now, Clean when turning the camera on or off
Mirror lock-up - Lock mirror up for CCD cleaning - On or Off
Firmware Ver. - Display firmware revision numbers
Dust off ref photo - Acquire reference date for the Image Dust Off option in Nikon Capture NX software
Auto Image rotation - Automatic portrait mode rotation in playback (On or Off)
