The Playback Menu

Delete - Selected, All, Print Set

Folder Designate - Create or select folders for images

Slideshow - Start auto playback, set Frame Interval time

Hide Image - Images may be hidden from Playback mode

Print Set - Embed DPOF (Digital Print Order Format) information.

Display Mode - Normal (image only), Histogram, Highlights or Both (histogram + highlights)

The Shooting Menu

Bank Select - Shooting settings can be stored in two different banks (A or B)

Image Quality - JPEG (Fine 1:4, Normal 1:8, Basic 1:16), TIFF RGB, or NEF Raw (Uncompressed or Compressed NEF)

Resolution - Image size: Large (3008x2000), Medium (2240x1488) or Small (1504x1000)

White Balance - Auto (4200-7000K), Incandescent (3000K), Fluorescent (4200K), Direct Sunlight (5200K), Flash (5400K), Cloudy (6000K), Shade (8000K), or Preset

ISO - Sensitivity (200, 250, 320, 400, 500, 640, 800, 1000, 1250, 1600, HI-1, HI-2)







Image Sharpening - Auto, Normal, Low, High, None

Tone Compensation - Auto, Normal, Less Contrast, More Contrast, Custom

Color Mode - sRGB I (default for as-is use), Adobe RGB (wider gamut of colors than sRGB, good for post-processing), sRGB II (more Vivid for as-is use)

Hue Adjustment - Hue can be adjusted in the range -9 ° to +9 ° in increments of 3 °. Raising hue above 0 ° (the default setting) introduces a yellow cast, making colors that would be red at a setting of 0 ° appear increasingly orange. Lowering hue below 0 ° will introduce a blue cast, making colors that would be red at a setting of 0 ° appear increasingly purple.

Custom Settings Menu (CSM)

R  Menu Reset - Reset all custom settings to default

0  Bank Select - Settings can be stored in two different banks (A or B)

1  Image Review - Enable or disable Image Review after capture

2  No CF Card - Enable/disable shutter lock if no CF card is inserted

3  ISO Auto - Off = fixed, On = auto 200-1600 as needed

4  Long Exp. NR - Off or On = noise reduction applied when shutter speed is one second or longer

5  File No. Seq. - Off or On = number images sequentially. Reset clears file and folder numbers and begins again with lowest number.

6  Monitor Off - Time the LCD monitor stays on (10s, 20s, 1m, 5m, 10m)

7  Auto Meter-Off - The time that information is shown on control panel (4, 6, 8, 16 secs, 30 mins.)

8  Self-timer - Define value for the self-timer (2, 5, 10 or 20 secs)

9  EV Step - 1/3 or 1/2 steps for shutter speed, aperture, exposure compensation, flash compensation, and exposure and flash bracketing settings

10  Exposure Comp. - Exposure compensation set with button and Command dial or Command dial only

11  BKT Set - Determine if autoexposure and/or flash exposure change with each shot in Auto Bracketing mode

12  BKT Order - MTR>Under>Over or Under>MTR>Over

13  Command Dial - Command dial sets shutter speed or aperture, sub-command dial is vice-versa

14  AE-L/AF-L - Specifies the function of the AE / AF Lock button

15  AE Lock - AE/AF Lock button locks exposure or the Shutter button

16  Illumination - LCD illuminates with Lamp switch or when any button is pressed

17  Focus Area - Off or On = wrap around selection

18  AF Area Illum - Illuminate active AF area in viewfinder

19  Grid Display - Off or On = display grids in viewfinder

20  Dyn. AF AF-S - Autofocus on closest subject or user determines the focus area when in Single Servo mode

21  Dyn. AF AF-C - Autofocus on closest subject or user determines the focus area when in Continuous Servo mode

22  AF Assist - Off or On = AF-assist illuminator lights automatically

23  Flash Mode - D-TTL or Full output

24  Anti-Shock - Delay exposure to prevent mirror vibration

The Setup Menu

Format - Format the CF card

LCD Brightness - Adjust brightness of the LCD

Mirror Lockup - Lock mirror up for CCD cleaning

Video Output - Video signal format (PAL or NTSC)

Date - Set internal clock

Language - Menu language (German, English, French, Japanese)

Image Comment - Identifier text attached to all images
