The small, pop-up flash unit is not very powerful with a maximum range of just 13ft. (W) at ISO auto. However, this TTL flash will be useful when up close for portrait images
Framing and viewing your images is accomplished with this 3.0-inch, 921,000 dot LCD screen. This screen allows you to see the smallest of details while displaying approx. 97% of the captured image.
Controls on back: At the top right you can see the side of the mode selection button, which is the only control on top of the camera along with the Shutter Release and zoom controls. At the top right of the back is the dedicated video recording button. At the bottom is the playback button, 4-way controller, menu and delete buttons. The 4-way controller also features a rotary dial that allows for faster selections of the menu items. Pressing the 4-way controller up gives you the flash settings, right handles exposure compensation, down are the macro settings and left is the self-timer.
Powering the S9100 is a 3.7V, 1050mAh Li-Ion rechargeable battery. This battery provides enough power to capture up to 270 images on a single charge (CIPA). Also shown is the USB adapter that allows you to charge the battery in the camera almost anywhere.
