Please excuse the poor quality of these screen captures. The S6300 kit does not include an AV output cable, therefore we had to photograph the display screen.
The S6300 displays the data on the screen during Playback as shown here, with the number of the photo and the resolution in the lower right corner, the date and time the photo was shot, along with the file name, in the upper left corner. After 4-5 seconds on the display screen, the photo's data disappears.
On the Playback screen, you can scroll through multiple photos at once using the thumbnail feature. Moving the zoom ring to the left causes the S6300 to display a 2x2 grid of thumbnails, a 3x3 grid, and a 4x4 grid of photos, allowing you to move quickly between files. Pressing the zoom ring to the left on the 4x4 grid brings up the Calendar window, as shown here, where the photos are sorted by the date on which they were taken.
Pressing the zoom ring to the right takes you back through the grids, leading to larger thumbnail images until you return to the main Playback screen.
From the main Playback screen, you can zoom into the image by pressing the zoom ring to the right. You can zoom in up to 10x magnification, which allows you to see just how sharp your image is. Keep in mind that the resolution on the Coolpix S6300's LCD isn't very high, so you won't receive a perfect representation of the sharpness of the image looking at the camera's LCD.
When playing back a movie on the screen, the controls are in the upper left portion of the screen, while the time elapsed in the movie is at the bottom of the screen. You also can edit out a portion of the video using the Cut button.
The Playback menu is available when you press the Menu button from the main Playback screen. These commands give you quite a few options for protecting or marking photo files, editing the photos, or setting up an on-screen slide show. The menu commands are:
