Nikon Coolpix S5200 Preview
It's easy to see why Nikon calls its new Coolpix S5200 "the camera for staying connected." Despite its compact pocket size, the S5200 boasts a 16 megapixel backside-illuminated CMOS image sensor capable of Full HD (1080p) video recording, a 6x optical zoom lens, target finding Auto Focus (AF), a number of in-camera effects, and built-in WiFi. The WiFi works in conjunction with Nikon's free Wireless Mobile Adapter Utility app (available for Android or iOS for your smartphone).
In-camera effects and performance enhancements include: Target Finding AF (Auto Focus), which automatically tracks moving objects to ensure sharp images; Best Smile Selector, a tool that selects the best shot for each subject; Glamor Retouch, which helps users brighten faces; and Quick Effects, which are various stylizations.
