To help you with using and navigating via the LCD touch screen, Nikon has included an easy to hold stylus. It also makes using the draw feature in the playback menu much easier than using your fingernail.

The S230 only features two buttons on the back of the camera. The Mode button allows you to switch your shooting modes, while the Playback button enters you into playback mode. At the bottom is the flash ready light, telling you when it is ready to fire. All of the menus and features are controlled via the Touch-LCD screen shown above.

On the bottom is the PC/AV port, which handles both the USB 2.0 (High-speed) connection for downloading images and movies to your PC, and the Audio/Video output for TV display.

The Coolpix S210 is equipped with ~44MB of internal memory and a SD/SDHC memory card slot, no card is supplied with the camera. Images and movies can be copied from internal memory to SD card or vice-versa. We recommend the purchase of at least a 1GB (or larger) SD/SDHC card or your picture taking will be quite limited.

The S230 is powered by a proprietary EN-EL10 rechargeable Li-Ion battery that is charged in the included MH-63 battery charger. Nikon claims this pack provides approx. 160 shots (CIPA standard) per charge. An optional power adapter EH-62D allows the camera to be powered from an A/C wall outlet.
