Record Screens & Menus

The P610 features a fully automatic shooting mode that takes care of everything for you. All you have to do is zoom and press the shutter button. Everything else is taken care of for you. Pressing the DISP button on the back of the camera allows you to change the amount of information that is shown about the camera and the current scene. There is no dedicated video recording mode, since the camera is always ready to record with the touch of the dedicated video recording button.

Program mode is another automatic shooting mode that gives a little control to the user. Settings like the ISO and WB can be set by the user, but in the end, the shutter release and aperture is taken care of by the camera to ensure a proper exposure.

Manual mode gives you full control over all of the camera settings. Everything is up to you, from the ISO to the aperture, you have to make all of the adjustments. This makes the P610 just like a dSLR, in terms of control. The camera also offers Aperture priority and Shutter speed priority modes.

Under the scene mode, you have the ability to choose a scene mode for your current scene. You also have the option to use the auto scene selector, which will choose for you. This is commonly found in the auto shooting mode, but Nikon is giving you opportunity choose if you want an automatic image with or without the scene modes included.

The 4-way controller/command dial allows for quick and easy navigation of the camera menus. It also acts as a shortcut to the flash, exposure compensation, AF and self-timer settings.
