Along with all the other Nikon announcements today, they have released an all new entry-level Coolpix digital camera ideal for someone getting their feet wet in digital photography, the Coolpix L24.  This Lifestyle-series camera comes with a 14-Megapixel resolution as well as a 3.6x optical zoom.  Similar to the new cameras in the S-series, the lens uses high-quality  NIKKOR glass.

Similar to the S3100, the L24 offers a 230K dot resolution 2.7-inch LCD screen for viewing photos and video.  The L24 does not shoot in high definition, but rather 640x480 (aka VGA resolution).  It also doesn't come with a rechargeable battery and opts for AA batteries instead (included).

Nikon COOLPIX L24 features:
  • 14-megapixel 1/2.3" CCD image sensor
  • 3.6x optical zoom  (28-130mm equivalent zoom range)
  • Up to 4x Digital Zoom
  • ISO Sensitivity of 80 to 1600
  • 2.7-inch LCD Screen (230,000 dot resolution)
  • 640 by 480 VGA video recording
  • SD/SDHC/SDXC memory card slot
  • Uses AA-batteries
The Nikon COOLPIX L24 is coming out in late February 2011, with three color options to choose from; Black, Silver, and Red. The COOLPIX L24 digital camera will have a MSRP of $119.95 US.
