The Auto mode is a fully automatic "point-n-shoot" mode that lets the camera choose all settings (shutter speed, aperture, ISO sensitivity, white balance, etc.), the user selects only image size, quality and capture mode (single, burst, bracketing.)

Onscreen icons indicate "A"uto mode, "8M"egapixel image size, 3 stars is Fine quality, the flash is Auto, there are 122 pictures remaining on the "SD" card, the battery level is full and the "X1" indicates single frame capture mode.

When you half-press the shutter release the auto focus is locked and if successful this is indicated by the focus area brackets turning green.

Program mode is also fully automatic, but allows you full access to all the menu options shown below.

    Image Size - 8M, 4M, 2M, 0.3M

    Quality - Fine, Normal, Economy

    White Balance - Auto, Daylight, Cloudy, Tungsten, Fluorescent

    ISO - Auto, 50, 100, 200

    Metering - Center-weighted, Spot

    Capture Mode - Single, Burst, AE Bracketing

    Digital Zoom - On, Off

    Quick View - On, Off

    Color - Full Color, B&W, Sepia

    Sharpness - High, Medium, Low

    Saturation - High, Medium, Low

    Date Imprint - On, Off

The Tv mode is Shutter-speed priority, you select the shutter speed from 2 seconds to 1/1000 second and the camera selects the proper aperture value.

The Av mode is Aperture priority, you select the aperture value from f/2.8 to f/8.0 is six steps and the camera selects the proper shutter speed.

The Manual mode lets you select both shutter speed and aperture value manually for total exposure control.

The Scene mode gives you access to the pre-programmed scene modes for Night Scene, Landscape, Portrait and Sports.

The Macro (close-up) focus mode coverage is from 2.4" (6cm) Wide / 11.8" (30cm) Tele - infinity. The flash is disabled in Macro mode.



Mustek MDC-832Z

Movie mode is fixed at 640x480 with a frame rate of 20fps. The length of recording is limited only by the amount of space available on the SD card. Because sound is recorded, you may set the optical zoom before recording but not during.
