Record Mode Screens & Menus
The Auto mode is a fully automatic "point-n-shoot" mode that lets the camera
choose all settings.
Onscreen icons indicate "A"uto mode, "5M"egapixel image size, 3 stars is Fine quality,
the flash is Auto, there are 179 pictures remaining on the "SD" card, the battery level
is full and the "X1" indicates single frame capture mode. The zoom lens "gauge" is
shown for a few seconds whenever the focal length is changed.
When you half-press the shutter release the auto focus is locked and if successful
is indicated by the focus area brackets turning green.
Program mode is also fully automatic, but allows you full access to all the
menu options shown below.
Record Menu options:
Image Size - 5M, 3M, 1.2M, 0.3M
Quality - Fine, Normal, Economy
Sharpness - High, Medium, Low
Color - Full Color, B&W, Sepia
Focus - Auto, Macro, Infinity
Capture Mode - Single, Burst, AE Bracketing
Metering - Average, Spot
Exposure - Exp compensation +/-2.0 EV in 1/3 EV steps
White Balance - Auto, Daylight, Cloudy, Tungsten, Fluorescent
ISO - Auto, 50, 100, 200
Rotate the Mode Dial to access the various exposure modes from: Auto, Program,
Portrait, Landscape, Sports, Night and Movie.
You change the flash mode by pressing the 4-way controller "left" and you enable the
selftimer by pressing it "right."
The Macro (close-up) focus mode coverage is from 2.4" (6cm) Wide / 11.8"
(30cm) Tele - infinity. The flash is disabled in Macro mode.
Movie mode is fixed at 320x240 with a frame rate of 20fps. The length of recording is
limited only by the amount of space available on the SD card. Because sound is recorded, you
may set the optical zoom before recording but not during.
