The menu system is called-up by depressing the MENU button at the top left corner of
the LCD monitor. Menu's are navigated with the up/left/right/down buttons or the
front and rear control dials. Menu choices are confirmed by depressing the center
button of the 4-way controller.

Preset white balance settings of Daylight, Shade, Cloudy, Tungsten, Fluorescent and Flash, each
fine tunable in 7 steps
Custom white balance settings are made from a reference shot of a white or neutral subject and
saved in one of three registers
Color temperature can be set witin a range of 2500K to 9900K
Camera Sensitivity Menu - ISO
Settings of Auto, 100, 200, 400, 800 and 1600 available. ISO 3200
can be enabled in the Custom menu.

The Custom Menu controls operation preferences; it has four sections:
Custom Menu Section 1:
Priority setup: AF/Shutter Release Priority Setup
AF - AF priority, shutter does not release until camera focuses Release - shutter release priority, shutter releases even if focus has not been achieved
FocusHoldButt: Focus Hold Button Setup for lenses so equipped
Focus hold - pressing focus hold button locks focus D.O.F preview - pressing focus hold previews depth of field
AF/MF button: AF/MF button setup
Hold - AF/MF button must be pressed and held to switch between auto and manual focus Toggle - Press and release to toggle between focus modes
AEL button: AEL Button Setup
AE Hold - AEL button must be pressed and held to lock exposure, released to unlock exposure AE Toggle - Press and release to AEL button to lock exposure. Press and release again to unlock exposure Spot AE Hold - Spot metering area is used; AEL must be pressed and held to lock exposure, released to unlock exposure Spot AE Toggle - Spot metering area is used; press and release AEL to lock exposure. Press and release again to unlock exposure
AF w/ shutter: AF With Shutter Release Button
On - Autofocus activated when shutter release button is depressed Off - AF is not activated by the shutter button; press center AF button of 4-way controller to activate AF
Auto AF setup:
Auto AF - AF system automatically switches from single to continuous AF depending on subject movement DMF - Direct Manual Focus. After AF system focuses, it can be adjusted manually

Ctrl dial set: Control-Dial Setup
SS front, F/no. rear - Front control dial adjusts shutter speed, rear dial adjusts aperture F/no. front, SS rear - Front control dial adjusts aperture, rear dial adjusts shutter speed
Exp.comp.: Control Dial Exposure Compensation Setup
Front dial - Front dial controls exposure compensation Rear dial - Rear dial controls exposure compensation Off
Ctrl dial lock: Control-Dial Lock
On - Exposure can be changed only when AF or exposure systems have been activated Off - Exposure can be changed at any time
Exp. comp. set: Exposure Compensation Setup
Ambient&flash - Both ambient and flash exposure controls can be adjusted Ambient only - Flash exposure is fixed & only ambient exposure controls adjust the exposure
AF illuminator:
On - Built-in flash fires a few short bursts when raised, or external flash AF illuminator lit to help focus Off - AF assistance not active

Shutter lock:
On - Prevents shutter from opening with no lens attached, avoiding the exposure of the CCD to dust Off - Allows shutter to open with no lens attached; use when attaching camera to a microscope or telescope
AF area setup:
Illuminates the AF point for .3 or .6 seconds following autofocus lock, or turns AF point illumination off
Monitor disp.: Monitor Display Setup
Automatic - Viewfinder eye sensor turns the LCD monitor on and off Manual - Display button turns the LCD monitor on and off
Rec. display: Recording Display Setup
Auto rotate - Rotates LCD monitor display to vertical when camera is held in portrait orientation Horizontal - Fixes LCD monitor display to horizontal
AS finder disp: Anti-shake Viewfinder Display Setup
Turns on or off the anti-shake scale in the viewfinder

ISO button set:
ISO - ISO button used to set camera sensitivity Zone Matching - ISO button used to set High (ISO 250) or Low (ISO 100) Zone Matching for light or dark scenes
