Record, Custom & Setup Menus



The menu system is called-up by pressing the MENU button to the left of the LCD monitor. Menu's are navigated using the 4-way controller.

Record Menu:

    Image size — L: 3008 x 2000, M: 2256 x 1496, S: 1504 x 1000
    Quality — RAW, RAW+JPEG, Extra Fine, Fine, Standard
    Inst. Playback — Off, 2, 5 or 10 seconds
    Noise reductn — Long shutter speed noise reduction
    Flash mode — Fill-flash, Red eye, Rear sync, Wireless
    Flash control — ADI flash, Pre-flash TTL
    Bracket order — Exposure sequence for AE and WB bracketing
    Reset — Reset all parameters back to factory default

Custom Menu:

    Priority setup
      AF - AF priority, shutter does not release until camera focuses
      Release - shutter release priority, shutter releases even if focus has not been achieved

    FocusHoldButt.
      Focus hold - pressing focus hold button locks focus
      D.O.F preview - pressing focus hold previews depth of field

    AEL button
      AE Hold - AEL button must be pressed and held to lock exposure, released to unlock exposure
      AE Toggle - Press and release to AEL button to lock exposure. Press and release again to unlock exposure
      Spot AE Hold - Spot metering area is used; AEL must be pressed and held to lock exposure, released to unlock exposure
      Spot AE Toggle - Spot metering area is used; press and release AEL to lock exposure. Press and release again to unlock exposure

    Ctrl dial set
      Shutter speed - Front control dial adjusts shutter speed
      Aperture - Front control dial adjusts aperture

    Exp. comp. set
      Ambient&flash - Both ambient and flash exposure controls can be adjusted
      Ambient only - Flash exposure is fixed & only ambient exposure controls adjust the exposure

    AF illuminator
      On - Built-in flash fires a few short bursts when raised, or external flash AF illuminator lit to help focus
      Off - AF assistance not active

    Shutter lock
      On - Prevents shutter from opening with no CF card inserted
      Off - Allows shutter to open with no CF card present

    Shutter lock
      On - Prevents shutter from opening with no lens attached, avoiding the exposure of the CCD to dust
      Off - Allows shutter to open with no lens attached; use when attaching camera to a microscope or telescope

    AF area setup
      Illuminates the AF point for .3 or .6 seconds following autofocus lock, or turns AF point illumination off

    Monitor disp.
      Automatic - Viewfinder eye sensor turns the LCD monitor on and off
      Manual - Display button turns the LCD monitor on and off

    Rec. display:
      Auto rotate - Rotates LCD monitor display to vertical when camera is held in portrait orientation
      Horizontal - Fixes LCD monitor display to horizontal

    Play display:
      Auto rotate - Rotates portrait images automatically
      Man. rotate - Does not automatically rotate portrait images

Setup Menu:

    LCDbrightness — Set monitor brightness to one of eleven levels, affects all monitor modes.
    Transfer mode — Data storage or PTP connect to PictBridge printer
    Video output — Select NTSC or PAL
    Audio signals — Camera beeps On or Off
    Language Select English, Japanese, German, French, Spanish, Chinese, Italian or Swedish
    Date/Time set — Set date, date format and time
    File # memory — On: File numbers are assigned sequentially or Off
    Folder name — Use Standard or Date form
    Select folder — Specifies in which folder images are saved
    New folder — Create a new folder for image storage
    LCD backlight — Turn off backlight after 5, 10, 30 or 60 seconds to conserve power
    Power save — Shut down camera after 1, 3, 5, 10 or 30 minutes of inactivity to conserve power
    MenuSecMemory — Recalls last Menu section used when Menu button is depressed
    Delete conf. — Requests or not confirmation of deletion of images
    Clean CCD — Exposes the camera's CCD for cleaning; use with care
    Reset default — Returns all camera modes and menus to factory defaults
