A typical Play mode screen. When you flip the Mode Switch to the Play position the last image captured is displayed full screen with overlay data for file folder and number, image resolution and quality, time and date. This same display is also shown when using the QuickView function from Record mode.

When an image is displayed full screen in Play or QuickView mode you can press the Up switch to display the histogram along with the shutter speed, aperture, white balance setting, ISO speed and exposure compensation.

Pressing the Magnifying Glass "-" button toggles the index mode shown above. Each page displays 9 thumbnail images so you can rapidly search through stored images.

The full screen playback image can be enlarged up to 10x in many incremental steps by pressing the Magnifying Glass "+" button and then using the up or down portion of the 4-way controller. To scroll around, press the center button and then use the 4-way selector, press the center button again to return to zoom mode.

Movie clips can be viewed on the EVF, LCD or a television if you have hooked up the audio-video cable. The audio portion can be heard on the internal speaker when played back in-camera.

You can capture individual frames from movie clips so you can use movie mode as a super-fast continuous capture mode if all you need are 800x600 or 640x480 size images.

You can edit the length of movie clips in-camera.

The Play mode menu:

Page 1

    Delete - Delete current frame, marked frames or all frames
    Format - Format the CF card
    Lock - Lock (protect) current frame, marked frames, all frames
    View folder - Select the image folder
    Folder name - Specify the folders viewed during playback
    Movie edit - Edit the length of a movie clip

Page 2

    Slideshow - Start automatic playback
    DPOF set - Select images for DPOF printing
    Date imprint - Print date of capture with each print
    Index Print - Print index sheet
    Cancel print - Remove DPOF information

Page 3

    Copy - Copy image files from one card to another
    Email copy - Copy and resize image to 640x480 for email
    Mag setup - Set initial zoomed playback magnification factor

SETUP menu options:

    Page 1

      LCDbrightness - Adjust the LCD brightness
      Lens acc. - Specify wide angle or telephoto lens adapter
      Transfer mode - USB mode: Data storage or computer control
      Date/Time set - Set the time and date
      Video output - NTSC or PAL format
      Language - Chose the menu language

    Page 2

      Shortcut help - Assign the shortcut help button
      File#memory - Sequentially number images
      Folder name - Choose the method for creating folder names
      Select folder - Select the active image folder
      New folder - Create a new image folder

    Page 3

      Reset default - Return all settings to factory default
      Audio signals - Choose a sound effect for camera beeps
      Focus signal - Choose a sound effect for focus confirm beep
      Shutter FX - Choose a sound effect for the shutter
      Volume - Adjust the volume of sound effects
      Power save - 1, 3, 5 or 10 minutes to auto power off

      Anti-shake - Display + Exposure or just Exposure
      Delete conf - Confirm delete requests, Yes or No
