One of the main features on the Easyshare Z950 is the Schneider-KREUZNACH Varigon 10x optical zoom lens with Optical Image Stabilization. This lens has a 35mm equivalent of 35-350mm focal range.The lens retracts into the camera when turned off and is protected by the included lens cap.


Z950 Focus Range:
  • Normal: Wide 1.64ft. - Infinity (0.5m - Infinity), Telephoto 3.94ft. - Infinity (1.2m - Infinity)
  • Macro:   Wide 0.39ft. - 1.97ft. (0.12m - 0.6m),  Telephoto 1.97ft. - 4.27ft. (0.6m - 1.3m)





kodak_z950_flash.jpgThe built-in flash has modes for auto, flash on, flash off, red-eye reduction, and soft flash. The working range using SmartCapture mode is up to: Approx. 17.7 ft. (5.4m) (W), approx. 12.8 ft. (3.9m) (T).

Starting of the left are the HD indicator light and Mode Dial. The Mode Dial has positions Smartcapture, Modie,Program, Auto, Shutter Prioriity, Aperture Priority, Manual, Scene, Panorama and Sports. To the right of the Mode Dial are the power button, self timer and flash buttons. Finally to the far right is the shutter release with the zoom control coupled around it.





kodak_z950_back.jpgFraming and viewing your images along with navigating the menus and changing settings is all done on the Hi-Res, 230,000 dot, 3-Inch LCD screen. Featuring 5 levels of brightness, you should have no difficulties seeing this screen in any lighting conditions.

Controls on the back: Along the side of the LCD are the Delete, Menu, Info, and Playback buttons. Above the 4-way is the camera's built-in speaker for video playback The 4-way selector is for navigating menus and selecting pictures; pushing the OK button in the center will accept menu selections. Finally at the bottom is the Share button, which is used when the camera is connected to you PC or a PictBridge compatible printer.

On the right side of the camera is a DC IN jack for an optional AC power supply as well as the USB/AV combination port. This port not only takes care of transferring images to your PC, Mac, or PictBridge compatible printer, but it also handles Audio/Video output to your television set. Unfortunately, Kodak does not include the A/V output cable with the camera.

Still images and movie clips are stored on 32MB of internal flash memory or removable SD, SDHC, or MMC memory cards. Shown here with a SanDisk Ultra II 15MB/s 4GB SDHC card.

The Easyshare Z950 is powered by a 3.7V, 1150mAh rechargeable Li-Ion battery. Kodak claims that the camera can capture approx. 180 images in Smart Capture mode. (CIPA)
