The Easyshare Z915 is equipped with a Kodak Retinar AF 10x all-glass lens with a 35-350 mm (35 mm equiv.) focal range. The maximum aperture range is from f/3.5 - 4.8. The lens retracts into the camera when powered down and is protected by a the included lens cap.
Auto focus is handled by a multi-zone, center zone, or selectable zone options as well as single AF or continuous AF modes.
The focus range is:
Macro: 4.7 in.-2 ft (0.12-0.6m) Wide, 2-4.25 ft. (.6-1.3 m) Tele
The built-in flash has modes for auto, flash on, flash off, red-eye reduction, and soft flash. The working range using SmartCapture mode is up to: Approx. 17.7 ft. (5.4m) (W), approx. 12.8 ft. (3.9m) (T).
On top are several controls. First we have the Power button. Next the Mode Dial has positions Smartcapture Auto, Sports, Panorama, SCN, Manual, Shutter speed priority, Aperture priority, Program, and Movie. On the right side are buttons for Flash, Macro focus, and self-timer. Last we have the shutter release with the zoom control coupled around it in the middle.
The large 2.5-inch color LCD with 230,000 pixels of resolution serves as the viewfinder as well as for reviewing your images and movies and accessing the menu screens. In lower light conditions the LCD will "gain up" for better framing.
Still images and movie clips are stored on 32MB of internal flash memory or removable SD, SDHC, or MMC memory cards. Shown here with a SanDisk Ultra II 15MB/s 4GB SDHC card.
The Z15 is powered by two AA type batteries. Kodak includes a set of two standard alkaline batteries, but is shown here with two Kodak 2500mAh Ni-MH batteries. Kodak claims this set fully charged can power the Z915 for up to 280 pictures.
