Kodak LS753 Review

Here we have half-pressed the shutter release and the camera has selected the AF zone as indicated by the smaller, red colored AF brackets.

The LS753 has a very respectable Macro ("Close Up") mode. The coverage is 5 - 100cm (2 - 39in.) in wide angle and 30 - 100cm (12 - 39in.) in telephoto.

This is an animated view of the exposure modes that can be selected from the "Camera Modes" display (Auto, Portrait, Close Up, SCN (Beach), Video, and Favorites.) This display has replaced the usual mode dial, you select the desired mode by using the jog dial located on the top (see our Features & Controls page.)

Here are the Scene modes you can choose from under the SCN icon on the "Camera Modes" display.

The MENU while in Still Record mode:

Self Timer - On of Off

Exposure Compensation - Override metering by ±2.0EV in 0.5EV steps

Burst - On or Off

Picture Quality - Best 5MP (2560x1920), Best 4.4MP (3:2; 2560x1706), Better 3.1MP (2048x1536), or Good 1.7MP (1496x1122)

White Balance - Auto, Daylight, Tungsten, Fluorescent

ISO - Auto, 80, 100, 200, 400, or 800 when using "GOOD" picture quality

Color - Color, Black & White or Sepia

Exposure Metering - Multi-pattern, center-weight or spot

Focus Zone - Multi-zone or center-zone

Long Time Exposure - Select a shutter speed of   1.0, 2.0, 4.0, 8.0, or 16.0 seconds

Image Storage - Select internal memory or Auto

Set Album - On or Off (Pre-select album names before shooting)

Setup Menu - Enter SETUP menu

You can record VGA (640x480) MPEG4 movies at 13fps with audio. The length of the movie is limited only by the available space on your memory card. You can select a maximum clip length of 5, 15 or 30 seconds if desired. The optical zoom can be preset before recording but not during.

Video Quality - Best VGA (640x480) or Good QVGA 320x240)

Set Album - On or Off (Pre-select album names before shooting)

Video Length - Choose the length value: unlimited, 5, 15, or 30 seconds

Image Storage - Select internal memory or Auto

Setup Menu - Enter SETUP menu

The SETUP menu:

Return - go back to regular menu

Liveview - Color LCD on or off by default

Sound Themes - Choose the theme for camera sounds

Volume - Turn off all sounds, or select a volume level

Auto Power Off - 10 minutes (default) 5, 3, or 1 minute

Date & Time - Set the internal clock

Video Out - Video output format - NTSC or PAL

Orientation Sensor - On or Off

Date Stamp - Choose a date option, or turn off

Video Date Display - Choose a date/time option, or turn off

Language - Choose the language

Format - Format internal memory or memory card
