The Z700EXR features a Fujinon 5x optical zoom lens that is built entirely inside the camera. Its 35mm equivalent is 35-175mm (F3.9-F4.7), which provides a better telephoto end than wide end. A large cover slides up and down to protect the lens and flash when the power is off, as well as acting as the power switch.
Fuji's compact flash unit on the Z700EXR operates in Auto, Forced On, Forced Off, Red-Eye Reduction and Slow Synchro. Although it is not very powerful, with a max range of up to 12.8ft. at ISO auto, it will be enough to fill a small room.
Framing and viewing your images is accomplished wiht Fuji's biggest in class, 3.5-inch, 460,000 dot Touch LCD screen. This screen allows you to touch and capture images as well as having a transforming interface that changes as you rotate the camera. Because of the ease of use of this screen, there are no controls on the back of the camera, while the only controls on top are the zoom lever and shutter release. The screen itself is very easy to see in all lighting conditions, inlcuding direct sunlight.
This USB port allows you to connect to a PC for quick uploading to your computer. It is also the way the camera connects to the internet for direct upload to Facebook and YouTube.
The Z700EXR only has 30MB of internal memory, so it relies mainly on the use of SD/SDHC memory cards. We suggest at least a class 4 memory card to keep up with the camera's HD video capture mode. The camera is shown here with a 16GB ADATA class 6 SDHC memory card.
Approx. Storage Capacities:
Powering the Z700EXR is a 3.7V, 700mAh rechargeable Li-Ion battery NP-45A. This battery is capable of providing up to 170 images on a single charge (CIPA). Also shown here is the included quick charger which will not only charge the NP-45A but also the P-45 that is also compatible with this camera.
