![]() The F700 employs a Super EBC Fujinon 3x optical zoom lens, it's equivalent to 35-105mm on a 35mm camera. It has a maximum aperture of F2.8 in wide angle and is adjustable from F2.8 to F8.0 in 1/3EV steps. When the camera is powered down the lens retracts inside the camera and is covered by a built in lens protector.
The digital zoom is 2.2x. The focusing range in Normal AF is from 2.0ft to Infinity.

The eyelevel optical real-image zoom viewfinder has a field of view of approx. 80% of the
captured image and lacks any type of diopter adjustment.

Flash modes available are:
Auto, Red-eye reduction, Forced flash, Suppressed flash, Slow syncro and Red-eye + Slow
Synchro. Flash range is 1.0 - 16.4 ft (wide), 2.0 - 13.1 ft (tele).

Controls on the back: Zoom lens controls (function as Zoom and Index in playback). The
DISPlay button in Record selects the LCD monitor ON/OFF or selects the four framing grid
lines. In Playback the DISPlay button toggles between Text display ON/OFF and Index of last
nine images in tiny thumbnails. The MENU/OK button toggles the Menu on/off . While ON, the
menu selections are navigated with the 4-way and the OK button makes selections. The BACK
button stops any procedure midway through. In record the 4-way selector toggles the Macro on
and off with the left arrow and the Flash modes with the right arrow. The blue "F" button
gives you quick access to Image Size/Quality settings, ISO speed and Color mode.
Below that is the Metering and Focus mode button and the Exposure Compensation button.

Located on top is the Continuous mode button on the left, the Mode Dial with positions for
SP (Scene Position), Movie, Auto, Program AE, Shutter-speed priority, Aperture priority,
and Manual. The shutter release button and behind that is the combination Power, Play
and Record mode switch.

On the side is the A-V Out / USB port and the 5v DC INput jack.
When the camera is in the cradle, the charging power and USB connections are
made automatically.

When the camera is placed in the docking cradle the battery is charged and the
camera can be powered for extended periods by the AC adapter/charger. The USB connection to
the computer for downloading and video conferencing is also made.

The F700 is equipped with a xD-Picture Card slot and is supplied with a 16MB xD card.
It's compatible with any xD card from 16MB to 512MB. The battery is also located
in this compartment.

![]() Power is supplied by a super-slim and proprietary lithium rechargeable battery pack. The NP-40 is a 3.7V 710mAH pack that charges in the camera in two hours or less. A fully charged battery can power the camera for approx. 135 shots with the LCD on and approx. 270 shots with the LCD off. |
