When you select Playback mode the last picture taken is displayed. You can move backward or
forward through the images using the LEFT and RIGHT buttons on the 4-way controller. The amount
of overlay information displayed is controlled by pressing the DISP button. Here you see folder
number - image number and the date & time. The icon in the upper left corner indicated that the image
was captured using Intelligent Face Detection.
Depressing the "+/-" button displays exposure information, including a histogram. Icons indicate
that image quality was set at 6M Fine, ISO 400, 1/60 second Shutter speed, Aperture was set
at f3.9, FinePix Color setting was standard, the Flash fired (On), White Balance was set to Auto and we did no use Exposure
Compensation (±0.)
You can quickly search through stored images using the Index playback function which is actuated
by pressing the DISP button. Nine thumbnail size images will be displayed and you can select
one using the 4-way controller and then pressing the MENU/OK button.
Depressing the DISP button again causes the images to be displayed by the date they were captured.
The image can be magnified up to 4.7x, depending on image resolution, by pressing the 4-way controller
Up button. Once the image is enlarged at any step, you can move around (Pan) inside of it.
Movie clips can be played in the camera or viewed on a TV using the supplied Audio/Video cable.
There is a built-in speaker in the camera to hear the audio portion of movies or voice memos.
The Playback menu lets you Erase a single frame or all frames, Rotate an image,
Protect or unprotect image(s), copy images between internal memory and xD card,
Record/Re-record a Voice Memo, Trim (crop) an image, or
enter the SETup menu (see below).
The Trim function allows you select an area of the image using the zoom and 4-way controller,
and crop it. The cropped image is saved as a 3M, 2M, or 0.3M image depending on the degree of
cropping performed.
You can record up to 30 seconds of audio and attach it to still images. These voice
memos can be replayed in the camera and heard through the speaker.
Depressing the F button in Playback mode lets you setup automatic playback or set DPOF printing parameters.
DPOF parameters provide for selecting the image, number of prints and with or printing without date.
Automatic playback styles include normal, Fade-In, Multiple and Clock. If Intelligent Face Detection was used
to capture the image, the face will be zoomed-in on if either Normal or Fade-In with Face Detection are selected
