Playback Screens & Menus
When you select Playback mode the last picture taken is displayed. You can move backward or
forward through the images using the LEFT and RIGHT buttons on the 4-way controller. The amount
of overlay information displayed is controlled by pressing the DISP button. Here you see folder
number - image number and the date & time.
Depressing the "+/-" button displays exposure information, including a histogram. Icons indicate
that image quality was set at 5M Fine, ISO 200, 1/90 of a second Shutter speed, Aperture was set
at f8.0, the Flash fired (On), White Balance was set to Auto and we did no use Exposure
You can quickly search through stored images using the Index playback function which is actuated
by pressing the DISP button. Nine thumbnail size images will be displayed and you can select
one using the 4-way controller and then pressing the MENU/OK button.
The image can be magnified up to 4.1x, depending on image resolution, by pressing the telephoto
zoom button. Once the image is enlarged at any step, you can move around (Pan) inside of it.
Movie clips can be played in the camera or viewed on a TV using the supplied Audio/Video cable.
There is a built-in speaker in the camera to hear the audio portion of movies or voice memos.
Pressing the MENU button lets you Erase a single frame or all frames, Rotate an image, toggle
DPOF settings, Protect or unprotect image(s), setup Automatic Playback as a Slide Show, enter
the SETup menu (see below), Record/Re-record a Voice Memo, or Trim (crop) an image.
The Trim function allows you select an area of the image using the zoom and 4-way controller,
and crop it. The cropped image is saved as a 2M, or 0.3M image depending on the degree of
SetUp menu in Record and Play modes:
POWER SAVE - 2min/5 min/off
SHUTTER VOLUME - Off, Low, Medium or High
BEEP VOLUME - Off, Low, Medium or High
PLAYBACK VOLUME - Choose between 0 - 10 FRAME NO. - Continuous or reset (file numbering)
LCD BRIGHTNESS - Adjust the displays brightness DIGITAL ZOOM - On/Off CCD RAW - Enable the RAW capture mode instead of JPEG
ZOOM POSITION - Resume or Reset, the Zoom position from the last power off
AF ILLUMINATOR - turn of/on the AF-assist lamp
AUTO POWER OFF - Off, 2 or 5 minutes FORMAT - Formats the xD card DATE/TIME - setting of date and time
TIME DIFFERENCE - setting the difference between Home and Local time
LANGUAGE - English/French/German
BACKGROUND COLOR - Choose from 6 different themes USB MODE - DSC(download to a PC)/PC Cam (webcam mode)/Pictbridge mode for direct printing
VIDEO SYSTEM - NTSC or PAL video signal timing
DISCHARGE - Discharge the NiMH rechargeable batteries
RESET - resets all camera settings to default.
