      Software and Computer Connectivity

      Fujifilm FinePix S5 Pro SLR

FinePixViewer v5.3.60E for Windows 98, ME, 2000, XP and Vista

FinePixViewer provides a simple interface you can use to download, save, and organize photographs captured with your FinePix digital camera. Version 5.3 is provided on the "Software for FinePix" CD that comes with the S5 Pro. You will be directed to install the software from the CD, then connect the provided USB 2 cable.

Some things you can do with FinePixViewer:

The Viewer automatically starts up when you connect the camera to your computer so you can copy images to the computer

Provides a thumbnail display to work with your images

Processing tasks such as image rotation, image resizing, file renaming and format conversion

Use the Print Wizard to select the images you want to print, check the image layout in a preview and then print the images

Order prints over the Internet from the FinePix Internet Service

      AutoPlay with Windows Vista

You may prefer to use Windows Photo Gallery that come with Vista. I had to install the software drivers from the Software for FinePix CD before Vista would recognize the camera. After that the S5 Pro interfaced perfectly with Windows Photo Gallery and I was able to use all the familiar tools to import, crop, rotate, edit and print the images downloaded from the camera.

S5 Pro with Macintosh OS X

Fuji supplies FinePix v3.4 and ImageMixer LE for Macintosh OS X on the Software for FinePix CD that comes with the camera. I did not install the software, but I was able to connect the FinePix S5 Pro to the Mac using the provided USB 2 cable and work with the familiar iPhoto application to import, crop, rotate, edit and print the images downloaded from the camera.
