Fujifilm FinePix S2 Pro SLR

The rear controls and LCD displays:

  • The "BACK" button lets you exit menu selections.
  • The 4-way selector is used to change the active focus area.
  • The switch around the 4-way selector locks it against accidental changes.
  • The "MENU/OK" button is used to call up the menu and make selections.
  • The "FUNC" buttons changes the display screen and the function of the four buttons underneath.
  • The "PLAY" button enables playback mode (a quick tap of the shutter button quickly returns you to capture mode.


Record mode settings are accomplished with the rear data LCD display, the FUNC button and the four buttons under the data display.

Pressing the FUNC button cycles through the following screens:

The default screen shows the ISO speed, AA battery condition, storage media selected, date and time and number of frames remaining. This is a display screen only, nothing can be changed directly.

AF Mode: Single-Area or Dynamic

Image Size: 4256x2848, 3024x2016, 2304x1536 or 1440 x 960

(The "Org" settings should only be used when the images will undergo processing for commercial printing.)

Pressing the MENU button while in Record mode displays this menu.

IMAGE DISPLAY - Off, Preview (show briefly after capture), Preview w/histogram, Postview (pause and show after capture with options to save, delete, add voice memo display histogram),

CUSTOM WB - Set a custom white balance value

HIGH MODE - TIFF-RGB or CCD-RAW when HIGH quality is selected

MEDIA - Select SmartMedia or CompactFlash Type II card slot

TEST-SHOOTING(NO CARD) - Allow camera to operate w/out card, On or Off

VOICE MEMO - Turn voice memo feature On or Off

FRAME NO - Sequentially frame numbering or renew with new card

PC MODE - 1394 Shooting, 1394 Downloading, USB Downloading

BEEP - Camera sounds On or Off

LANGUAGE - Select the menu language

DATE/TIME - Set the internal clock

RESET ALL - Reset all settings to default

This is the Voice Memo recording screen. If you enable this option then it is automatically displayed after capturing an image. You can record up to a 30 second audio memo to each picture. This can also be selected from the data LCD if you have enabled the "Image Display / Postview" option.

If you enable the POSTVIEW or option the last image captured is displayed on the color LCD and you can delete it, store it, record a voice memo, compare it to color and grayscale bars or display the histogram (master, red, green and blue channels.)

The Histogram screens by themselves are also available when you select the POSTVIEW w/Histogram option.

Rotating the Mode Dial to the CSM position enables the Custom Settings Menu which is displayed on the color LCD. You change menu pages with the Main Command Dial and change options with the Sub Command Dial.
