When you select Playback mode the last picture taken is displayed. You can move backward or
forward through the images using the LEFT and RIGHT buttons on the 4-way controller. The
amount of overlay information displayed is controlled by pressing the DISP and "+/-"
buttons. Here you see folder number - image number, Image quality used (11M F), Battery Level and the date & time.
Depressing the "+/-" button displays exposure information, including a histogram. Icons
indicate that image quality was set at 11M Fine, ISO 100, 1/450 second Shutter speed, Aperture
was set at f4.5, Film Simulation setting was standard, the Flash mode (Off), White Balance was
set to Auto and we did no use Exposure Compensation (±0.)
You can quickly search through stored images using the Index playback function which is actuated using the
wide angle zoom control. Display four, nine, 100 (that's right 100!) thumbnail size images per page or the Date display. You
can select one using the 4-way controller and then pressing the MENU/OK button. The Date Display shows all of the images captured on a specific day.
The image can be magnified in several steps (I counted 18 in total) by pressing "Up" on the 4-way controller. To Zoom out, you press the "Down" button. Once the image is enlarged at any step, you can move around (Pan) inside of it using the 4-way controller.
Movie clips can be played in the camera or viewed on a TV using the supplied Audio/Video cable.
There is a built-in speaker in the camera to hear the audio portion of movies or voice memos when playing them back in-camera.
The Playback menu lets you Erase a single frame or all frames, start a Slide show,Remove Red Eye in your portraits, Rotate an image, Protect or
un-protect image(s), copy images between internal memory and the xD/SD card, Record/Re-record
a Voice Memo, Trim (crop) an image, set the Direct Print Order Format (DPOF), or enter the Setup menu (see below).
The Trim function allows you select an area of the image using the zoom and 4-way controller,
and crop it. The cropped image is saved as a 6M, 3M, 2M, or 0.3M image depending on the degree of
cropping performed.
You can record up to 30 seconds of audio and attach it to still images. These voice
memos can be replayed in the camera and heard through the speaker.
