EXR Auto is Fuji's advanced auto shooting mode that allows you to point-n-shoot with total confidence knowing that you will get the best image possible for the current shooting situation. Pressing the DISP. button allows you to change the amount of information that is shown on the LCD screen.
Program mode is another automatic shooting mode that gives you a little more control over some of the camera's settings. This allows for a little more creativity while still ensuring a good exposure.
Manual, Aperture and Shutter Priority modes give you the most control and the most creative freedom. This is also a great way for beginners to learn about photography on their own.
Scene Modes: Portrait, Portrait Enhancer, Dog, Cat, Landscape, Sport, Night, Night (Tripod), Fireworks, Sunset, Snow, Beach, Underwater, Party, Flower, Text, Flash and Natural Light, Natural Light
There are also several advanced shooting modes made possible by Fuji's EXR system: 360 Panorama, Pro Focus, Pro Low-Light, Multiple Exposure, 3D.
When in shooting mode, the 4-way controller acts as a shortcut button for some of the camera's most common shooting settings. Up allows you to adjust the exposure compensation, right adjusts the flash, down is the self-timer and left enables macro mode.
Pressing the Fn button on top of the camera turns on the compass and GPS modes allowing you to find your way from anywhere.
F mode menu is a quick pop-up menu to more commonly used settings:
- ISO - 100, 200, 400, 800, 1600, 3200, 6400 (M), 12800 (S) and Auto settings with max ISO of 400, 800, 1600, 3200
- Image Size - L (4:3, 3:2, 16:9), M (4:3, 3:2, 16:9), S (4:3, 3:2, 16:9)
- Continuous - Off, Best Frame Capture, Continuous, Dynamic Range BKT, Film Simulation BKT, AE BKT
- GPS Setup - Power Search On, My Landmark Register, Location Search, Location Info, Auto Time Correction, Tracking Data, km/mile, Place Name Stamp
- Advanced Anti Blur - On or Off
- Film Simulation - Standard, Vivid (Velvia), Soft (Astia), B&W, Sepia

- ISO - Auto(400), Auto(800), Auto(1600), Auto(3200), 100, 200, 400, 800, 1600, 3200, 6400, 12800
- Image Size - L 4:3, 3:2, 16:9, M 4:3, 3:2, 16:9, S 4:3, 3:2, 16:9
- Image Quality - Fine, Normal
- Dynamic Range - Auto, DR100, DR200, DR400
- Film Simulation - Standard, Vivid (Velvia), Soft (Astia), Black&White and Sepia
- WB - Auto, Custom, Fine, Shade, Fluorescent Light 1-3, Incandescent, Underwater
- Intelligent Sharpness - On or Off
- Continuous - Off, Best Frame Capture, Continuous, Dynamic Range BKT, Film Simulation BKT, AE BKT
- My Landmark Register - Set your own landmarks with the GPS
- Advanced Anti Blur - On or Off
- Face Detection - On, Off
- Photometry - Multi, Spot, Average
- AF Mode - Center, Multi, Continuous, Tracking
- Face Recognition - On, Off, Register, View&Edit, Erase, Auto Registration
- Movie AF Mode - Center, Continuous
