Features & Controls
The 6340z uses a 3x optical zoom lens (35mm equivalent 37-111mm) The maximum
aperture is F 2.8-6.7. The autofocus system is contrast-type with a single
AF point at the center of the image. The focus range in Normal AF is 80 cm
(2.6 ft.) to infinity, in Macro it covers from 5 cm to 80 cm (1.9 in. to 2.6
ft.). The lens retracts into the camera body when powered down and has a
built-in lens cap.

The eyelevel optical viewfinder is a real-image zoom type with a field of view ranging
between 70-90% of the captured image, depending on focal length.
It has no dioptric adjustment. Two LEDs indicate the flash and
autofocus status when the shutter is half-pressed.

The flash has a limited range of approx. 9.75 ft. at wide angle and 6.5 ft.
at telephoto. Flash modes available are: Auto, Red-eye reduction, Fill
flash, Slow sync + Red eye reduction or Off.

The Mode Dial has positions for Auto, Movie and A/S/M (Aperture priority,
Shutter priority, Manual) with the Shutter release located in the center.

Controls on the back are minimal but effective. On the top left is the
sliding Power switch. To the right is the Zoom controls, which also act as
the Zoom and index options in playback mode. Next is the Flash mode button;
it also functions as the image delete button in playback. The 4-way
controller allows you to navigate the menu systems and pressing the OK in the
center accepts selections. Along the LCD you'll find the Play button that
enters playback mode. The Mode button enables and disables Macro mode, and
when in playback it acts as the image protect button. Menu enter the
onscreen menu system> last is the Display button which controls the amount
of overlay information displayed on the LCD as well as turns the monitor On
and Off.

The 1.5-inch color TFT LCD monitor is used as a viewfinder, to access the
6340z's menu system, and to review images. Its refresh rate is 30fps when
used as a live viewfinder, and it is equipped with an LCD backlight for
improved viewing in bright conditions.

On the right side is the USB 1.1 port for uploading to the computer and
viewing images on the TV set via the included Audio/Video cables. There is
also the DC IN port for connecting the included AC adapter to charge the
cameras battery.

The 6340z has 16MB of internal memory for picture storage and is equipped
with a SD/MMC card slot located in the battery compartment. It's compatible
with any capacity SD card from 16MB to 512MB.
![]() Power is supplied by a proprietary 3.7v 900mAh rechargeable Li-ion battery pack. Concord made no claims about battery life. They also included an AC adaptor to charge the pack in-camera. This adaptor can also be used as an external power source. |
