Record Modes

(Note: Please excuse the quality of some screen captures, the EX-Z200 does not have video out when in record mode, so we either had to photograph the LCD or take them from the user's manual.)

Here you can see the Panel display, using the typical Auto record mode. Along the right hand side of the frame are icons for Image size/quality, Flash mode, Auto Shutter Settings, Auto Shutter Sensitivity, Face Detect AF, Burst Mode, ISO, White balance, EV compensation, and the Time. This "Panel" is actually a shortcut menu. Pressing the SET button in the center of the 4-way controller allows you to toggle settings.

When taking a shot of a business card, document, whiteboard, or similarly shaped object from an angle, it can cause the subject to appear angularly distorted. Business card/Document and White board/etc. modes automatically correct the shape of rectangular objects to make them appear like the camera was positioned directly in front of them.

The EX-Z200 can record high quality motion video at 848x480 (UHQ Wide, HQ Wide), 640x480 (UHQ, HQ, Normal), 320x240 (LP) with sound. The length is only limited by the capacity of your memory card and the life of your battery (maximum size of 4GB). The zoom can not be used while recording, but can be preset before. Motion video clips are encoded in H.264/AVC MOV format. Casio has added a one-touch button on the back of the camera for video recording. This means that you will not have to take the time to change to video mode, just press the record button while in any shooting mode and the camera will instantly start recording video at the preset quality.

Casio Exilim EX-Z200

The Z200 features a very advanced face detection mode. It allows you to pre-record facial information into the camera and specify a priority setting. This will allow the camera to concentrate on the pre-recorded and prioritized faces in group portraits.

Casio Exilim EX-Z200

Casio has added 3 auto shutter modes to several of their new model cameras. These modes allow the camera to automatically take pictures at specific times without you having to press the shutter release. The first mode will determine when the camera and the subject are still so that there will be no blurring or camera shake. The second mode will take a picture as you follow your subject. The camera will wait until the subject is in focus no matter how blurred the background is. The third mode will automatically take a picture when the camera determines that the subject or subjects are smiling, whether you are ready or not, making sure you never miss a smile.
