Record Modes

(Note: Please excuse the quality of some screen captures, the EX-V7 does not have video out when in record mode so we had to take these from the user's manual.)

When taking a shot of a business card, document, whiteboard, or similarly shaped object from an angle, it can cause the subject to appear angularly distorted. Business card/Document and White board/etc. modes automatically correct the shape of rectangular objects to make them appear as though the camera was positioned directly in front of them.

Here is a screen showing the framing Grid display. You activated this via the record menu. This is a helpful framing guide to ensure you get level shots.

The EX-V8 can record high quality motion video at up to 848 x 480 @ 30fps with sound in one of four quality settings (UHG, HG, Normal, or LP) or smaller 320x240 (15fps.) The length is only limited by the capacity of your memory card and the life of your battery. The zoom can be used while recording, a great feature not always seen in a compact digital cameras. Motion video clips are encoded into.MOV format.

You can also select one of 10 Best Shot movie modes: like Short Movie (2-8 seconds, past+future, settable by user),and Past Movie, a 5-second buffer that captures the 5 seconds previous to pressing the movie record button plus the action that occurs in the future until you stop recording.
