Casio has staked its global reputation on the success of a wide range of electronic devices, from watches and calculators to musical instruments and cameras. The company was founded in Tokyo in 1946 by Kashio Tadao and made its name in the 1950s with the introduction of the world's first compact all-electric calculator. Casio did not enter the camera market until 1987, when it released the VS-101, an electronic still camera that was an analog predecessor to today's digital cameras.

Eight years later, Casio introduced its first digital camera, the QV-10. The QV-10 featured a color LCD, which was unique for its time. Casio cameras would follow with more innovations, including the first 3-megapixel digicam in 2000 and the first digicam with a ceramic lens in 2004.

The popular Casio Exilim digital cameras currently feature a variety of models along three product lines: Card, High Speed, and Zoom. Casio Exilim Card Series cameras sport large LCDs and optical zoom lenses in ultra-slim bodies. The Exilim Zoom Series is aimed at budget-minded consumers seeking an all-purpose camera. Casio's latest series, the Exilim High Speed, is targeted at photographers demanding super high frame rates.
