Smart Auto mode takes care of choosing all of the camera's settings for you, including selecting the appropriate Scene mode, allowing anyone to capture excellent images. Pressing down on the 4-way controller allows you to change the amount of information on the LCD screen as shown above.
Program mode is still automatic, but it gives you the ability to change some of the camera settings, including selecting your own scene modes. Settings like ISO, White Balance, and Focus modes are also available.
Half-pressing the shutter button allows the camera to focus on the image while selecting the shooting settings. These settings are shown on the LCD screen. Here you can see that the ISO is set to 400, Flash on, 1/15 of a second shutter speed and an aperture of 4.5.

The SD4500 IS is Canon's first compact camera to capture video in 1080p HD. It can also record in 720p, 640x480 and 320x240 as well, in the .mov format with a motion jpeg compression. The Full 10x optical zoom is available while recording, giving you even more creative options.
