canon_SD4500is_550.jpgOne of three new PowerShot models released by Canon for the second half of 2010, the PowerShot SD4500 IS builds off the foundation laid by the SD4000 IS we reviewed earlier this summer, with some appealing improvements. While they share the same 10-megapixel CMOS imager sensor and Canon's HS (High Sensitivity) System, they've added a more versatile 10x optical zoom to the mix. The SD4500 IS still offers a nice wide 3.0-inch LCD screen, along with high-speed photo capture options at 3.7 or 8+fps. Canon has also broadened the shutter speed range (up to 1/4000 of a second), and added Full 1080p HD video recording.

All of these powerful functions are packed into a compact body that is only slightly larger and heavier that the SD4000.
