The PowerShot S230 can be operated while tethered to the computer via the USB port in
Windows98. Here's the RemoteCapture program showing the Image View.

Selecting the Shooting Settings tab brings up this window where you can trip the
shutter and take "test shot" which will then be displayed (sorry, no live preview.)
As you can see from here you can change the zoom, image size and quality, set the flash
mode, macro mode, white balance or exposure compensation. Once you have everything
set the way you want it you can stop snapping off shots which can be stored on the
camera's CF card or transfered directly to the hard drive.

Other options allow you to use the camera in Interval mode, just set the desired
interval time and the number of frames it should take when each interval is reached.
