Canon is revamping its entire entry-level A-series cameras for 2012, introducing six new models priced between $109.99 and $199.99. The entire series delivers a 16-megapixel CCD image sensor, a 28mm (35mm equivalent) wide angle lens, 720p HD video recording, a new for this year Help Button, and Smart AUTO, a function which automatically chooses between 32 different shooting modes to help novice photographers take great pictures no matter the settings.

Canon is revamping its entire entry-level A-series cameras for 2012, introducing six new models priced between $109.99 and $199.99. The entire series delivers a 16-megapixel CCD image sensor, a 28mm (35mm equivalent) wide angle lens, 720p HD video recording, a new for this year Help Button, and Smart AUTO, a function which automatically chooses between 32 different shooting modes to help novice photographers take great pictures no matter the settings.The A4000 IS is the flagship of the A-series, and therefore has the most features and the longest optical zoom at 8x. It also has a 3.0-inch LCD screen and Intelligent IS (optical image stabilization) to help ensure crisp videos and stills at full zoom. The A4000 costs about $20 more than the A3400 IS, which only has a 5x optical zoom. However, the A3400 does include a touch screen viewfinder.
