Canon Powershot A300 Review

Record Mode Screens & Menus
The screens you see here had to be photographed directly off of the LCD
screen as the A300 has no video out port. We hope you understand why
these screen captures are not up to our usual standard.
This the Auto Record screen. Icons across the top indicate matrix
metering mode, single frame drive mode, macro focus mode, auto flash
mode and the camera icon indicates the Auto record mode. On the
bottom is the image quality "S"uperfine and image size "L"arge and
there's room on the CF card for 8 more pictures.
Pressing the FUNCtion button in Auto mode allows you to select the
image size (2048x1536, 1600x1200, 1024x768 or 640x480) or the image
quality (Superfine, Fine or Normal).
Pressing the MENU button brings up this screen. You can turn on or off the automatic auto focus point selector,
set the selftimer
to 2 sec. or 10 sec., turn on/off the auto focus assist beam, turn the digital zoom on/off and set the image review time from 3 sec. to 10 sec. or off.
This the Manual Record screen. Icons across the top indicate matrix
metering mode, single frame drive mode, auto flash
mode and the "camera M" icon indicates the Manual record mode. On the
bottom is the image quality Fine and image size "L"arge and
there's room on the CF card for 15 more pictures.
The FUNCtion options in Manual mode:
White Balance - Auto, Day Light, Cloudy, Tungsten, Fluorescent 1 & 2 and Custom ISO - Auto, 50, 100, 200, 400 Color Effect - Off, Vivid, Neutral, Low Sharpening, Sepia and B&W Quality - Superfine, Fine and Normal Image Size - "L" arge (2048x1536), M1 (1600x1200), M2 (1024x768) and "S" mall (640x480).
Movie mode lets you capture motion video at approx. 15 frames/sec
with audio in 640x480 resolution for up to 30 seconds per clip.
Smaller 320x240 or 160x120 size movies can be recorded for up to
3 minutes per clip.
