(Play) button brings up the last image stored full screen on the LCD.
There is no overlay information shown by default.
Press the INFO button to display basic information: the current folder
and file number is in the upper right corner, down in the lower left is the shutter speed,
aperture, current image number and total number of images.
Press the INFO button again to see the exposure details. The current image is displayed as a thumbnail with a histogram to show the dynamic range, the ISO equivalent, the recording mode, shutter speed, aperture, flash and exposure compensation, white balance, metering mode, exposure mode image size and quality, time and date.
Another feature of the info-playback thumbnail is that it will "blink" areas of the
image deemed to be overexposed. You can use this as a visual warning that you
might need to adjust exposure compensation and re-shoot the picture.
Pressing the (Index-Reduce) button will bring up a
thumbnail preview index so you can quickly select an image to display.
Pressing the Jump button enables you to move backwards or forwards 10 or 100 images at a
time, your position is indicated by the slider graphic in the
lower right. You can also jump to the previous/next date that images were captured.
Press the (Enlarge) button to go into Zoom-Playback mode, each time you press the button
the image is magnified more until you reach the maximum of 10x. At any step you
can scroll around
inside the image using the 4-way controller.
Play menu options:
The Digital Rebel XTi is PictBridge compatible, just plug the USB cable from the camera
directly into the special USB connector found on the front of most modern photo printers.
You can also plug it directly into Canon Card Printers and Canon Bubblejet Direct
The camera "knows" when it is connected to a PictBridge printer and displays a "SET" icon in the upper left hand corner and turns on the blue light next to the Direct Print button on the back of the camera. Press the SET button to enter the direct print menu. Here you select borderless, bordered, time/date stamp, # of copies, paper size, and can optionally trim the image.
Select your options and then hit the SET button to print - that's it, quick and simple, "no-computer needed" printing of your digicam images.
