Playback Screens & Menus

canon_eos_5ds_play_info_anim.gifPressing the playback button on the back of the camera allows you to view the images that are stored on either of the cameras media cards. Pressing the info button allows you to change the amount of information that is shown on the LCD screen. The full list with histogram extends well beyond what can be shown on the screen, but pressing down lets you scroll through everything.

To get to the index mode, you must press the magnifying glass, then rotate the command dial. Each time you rotate the dial, the thumbnails will get smaller. Rotating it the other way will make them larger. This is an easy way to search through your stored images without a computer.

Turning the dial the other way after pressing the magnifying glass allows you to zoom in on an image. This lets you check your fine details and focus on the camera. Once you have zoomed in, you can use the 8-way controller to scroll around the image. Thanks to the high-quality LCD on the 5Ds, you can easily see fine details and focus when using this option.
