Kyle Schurman's Bio
Kyle Schurman has been a freelance writer focusing on consumer electronics and computing since the days of DOS and film cameras. He has worked with consumer-level digital cameras almost since the beginning, and he still has his first digital camera, a 0.5 MP Kodak DC215 Zoom. He has been reviewing cameras almost as long, trying to help consumers find a model that meets their needs. He has been writing for Steve's DigiCams since mid-2012. Few things are as frustrating as purchasing a camera that has too few or too many features to meet their needs versus the photographer's skill level.
His background as a photographer began by shooting news events and sporting events as a journalist. Now, though, he enjoys the challenge of creating that perfectly exposed photo, whether it's a beautiful landscape image or the kids playing with the family dog, and he enjoys working with the exciting new technologies in a variety of cameras. Writing camera reviews is a perfect job for him, because he enjoys having a chance to try out all of the new gadgets!
