HP includes a nice package of software tools with the C912 including Adobe PhotoDeluxe, ACDSee, HP Printing software and this integrated software launcher.

  • Unload Camera launches the USB transfer program
  • View Images launches the ACDSee browser
  • Print Images launches the HP Printing application
  • Share Images uploads files to online photo-sharing sites (HP Cartogra, MyFamily.com, Zing)
  • Email Portal launches an application to help optimize and resize your photos for email attachments.

Plugging in the USB cable will automatically activate the download software which then comes up and prompts to transfer the camera images to your hard drive. It is very easy and quick thanks to the speedy USB port which downloads even the highest resolution JPEG images in about 2 seconds or less.

The HP Printing software is very flexible and lets you build pages with various photo layouts quickly and then print them or save them as albums for future use.

The HP Printing program also has a full-featured image editor builtin that lets you automatically adjust an image or gives you manual control of exposure, color or sharpness, you can also rotate portrait mode images and view the histogram.

The Email application will help you resize and compress your images for optimal email transmission to friends and family.

When connected to the Internet you can launch the Web Update application which automatically checks for any camera firmware updates that are available. If there is an update it will download it and tell you how to apply it to the camera.

Another application will also check the web for updates to the HP Imaging and Printing software too!
