January 27, 2000 -- Olympus America Inc., today announced
the new C-3030 ZOOM 3.34 Megapixel (2048 x 1536) filmless digital zoom camera
has been added to its line of award-winning digital cameras.
Olympus C-3030 ZOOM features:
- 3.34 Megapixel CCD
- 15 capture modes:
2048 x 1536, 1600 x 1200, 1280 x 960, 1024 x 768 and 640 x 480
in compressed JPG or uncompressed TIFF format
- 3X Zoom (32-96mm equivalent) 8-element, all-glass lens with continuous 2.5X digital
telephoto
- QuickTime Movie with sound: 191 seconds at 160 x 120
resolution (15 fps), or 46 seconds at 320 x 240 (15 fps)
- 32MB SDRAM buffer for rapid shooting at 3.5 frames per second
and real time shooting at all times
- 1.8-inch wide-view LCD display
- Image inspection mode allows up to 3X magnification
- 6-mode flash with new slow syncro and red-eye reduction modes
- Olympus FL-40 external flash can be used via optional TTL cable
- Shutter speeds from 1/30 to 1/10,000 second
- Sound can be recorded during video filming or a 4 second sound byte can
be recorded for play with a single image
- ISO of 100, 200, or 400 are user selectable
- Black & white and sepia modes for shooting monochrome images
- Blackboard/Whiteboard Mode, the appropriate exposure settings are
automatically selected for capturing text and ensuring clear, visible writing
- Longer, slower shutter speeds are available: up to 16 seconds manual or 1/800 second to ½
second in auto
- Manual exposure mode allows the shutter and aperture to be selected
independently

The C-3030 ZOOM includes an 16MB Olympus brand panorama SmartMedia card, remote
control, 2 CR-3V Lithium batteries, lens cap, strap, USB and serial cable for PC
and Mac, video connection cable for TV or VCR, Adobe PhotoDeluxe image
manipulation and creation software, Enroute Imaging QuickStitch panorama
stitching software, Olympus Camedia Master Utility Software, and instruction
manuals. The C-3030 ZOOM will be
available in May 2000 with an expected street price of $999.
