Just slide open the lens cover to turn on the camera. The first thing you see on the LCD screen is the camera's current settings. The top left icon shows the Shooting mode is set to Auto. The next icon shows Face Detection is on. And the little "eye" icon shows the Flash mode (Red Eye Reduction). More info is provided on the top right of the screen. You can see the Resolution is set to 7M (7-megapixels) and next that the Quality is set to F (fine) and that you can take 1080 more images at the current resolution. All this info is only displayed for a few seconds when you open the cover of the camera. By pressing the DISP. button you can choose to show this info all the time, take it away or even show a grid on the screen to help you with framing your shots.
Pressing the Shutter halfway starts the Auto Focus mode and the screen displays the shutter speed and aperture
settings at the bottom of the LCD along with the flash setting at the top.
The Manual mode screen is very similar to Auto, with the only difference being the manual icon and on the right
side and the ISO setting being used is listed. Here you can see the possible screen settings: Info displayed,
Grid lines, and all Info off.
