Here is the Auto mode screen display. Minimal information is displayed and only a few parameters such as image size or recording mode can be changed. Upper left is the battery level that's constantly displayed. The image size is "7M"egapixels, the image folder is 101, there's space for 232 shots, a graphical icon of the Memory Stick's available space, and in the center are the Auto Focus area target marks.

This is a "P"rogram AE screen. Top left shows the battery level (1/4 full). This is also a fully automatic exposure mode, however, now you have access to options like white balance, ISO, metering, color modes, etc.

When you half-press the shutter release the AF marks will turn green indicating the area of focus, it will also show the selected shutter speed and aperture.

Shown above are all of the exposure option available when you rotate the mode dial: Auto, Program, Movie, Snow, Beach, Landscape, Twilight, Twilight Portrait, Soft Snap, High Sensitivity.

Color Mode - Normal, Rich, Natural, Sepia, B&W
Metering - Multi or Spot
White Balance - Auto, Daylight, Cloudy, Fluorescent, Incandescent.

Picture Quality - Fine or Standard
Rec Mode - Normal, Burst
Flash Level - + , Normal or - .
Sharpness - +, Normal, or -
Setup - Enter the Setup menu

The screen in the Movie mode. You can record QVGA (320x240) .AVI Motion JPEG format video at 30fps with audio. Because sound is recorded, the optical zoom may not be used while recording. But, you may preset the focal length before starting.

Color Mode - Normal, Sepia, B&W.
Metering - Multi or Spot
White Balance - Auto, Daylight, Cloudy, Fluorescent, Incandescent.
Setup - Enter the Setup menu
