The Auto record mode is a simple "Point-n-Shoot" mode. The line of icons across the top indicates
the settings of the camera. The camera is in "Auto" mode, battery level is full (3/3), the
"8M" represents image resolution of 8 megapixels, "F" indicates Fine compression, and "111" is the
number of remaining frames.
Half-pressing the shutter release locks the autofocus, showing the setting of the flash, aperture and shutter speed values.
The Manual record is also fully automatic, however this mode lets you select values for many
exposure options - see menu below.
In Picture Stabilization mode the camera boosts the ISO sensitivity (as high as ISO 800),
allowing you to use a fast shutter speed, which helps reduce the effects of camera shake and
moving-subject blur.
SCENE POSITION - Choose the exposure mode (Manual, Landscape, Sport, Night, Natural Light, Beach, Snow, Fireworks, Sunset, Flower, Party, Museum, and Text) ISO - Auto, 100, 200, 400, 800
QUALITY - 8M F, 8M N, 3:2, 4M, 2M, 0.3M
EXP. COMENSATION - ±2EV in 1/3 EV steps
WHITE BALANCE - Auto, Fine, Shade, Fluorescent -1, Fluorescent -2, Fluorescent -3, Incandescent
HIGH-SPEED SHOOTING - Continuous exposure mode; on or off
CONTINUOUS - Top 3 or Off
SET-UP - enter the SETUP menu
The F480's Macro focus mode allows you to focus from approx. 2.0 in. to 2.6 ft. at Wide angle or
1 to 2.6ft at telephoto.
Movie record mode allows you to record video at 320x240 with a frame rate of 30fps, with sound. The length depends on space available on the xD Card. Because audio is recorded, the optical zoom may not be used while recording, however, you can preset the desired focal length before recording starts. |
