Pressing the Play button brings up the image last captured. The default information is
displayed: image size (10-megapixel), quality (Fine), file number, battery level indicator, and
time and date of capture are shown. Pressing the 4-way controller left or right scrolls through
the stored images. A "musical note" icon (not shown) indicates there is an audio memo attached,
press the SET button to play the audio.
Like in Record mode, the DISPlay button brings up this menu for controlling the Layout, amount
of exposure information displayed, brightness and Type of display.
Here we have the +Histogram option enabled via the DISPlay menu. It also shows extended exposure
data: EV compensation (0.0), ISO used (ISO 100) Best Shot mode used (Auto), flash mode, white
balance (AWB), metering, Aperture value (f3.8), Shutter speed (1/60) as well as the histogram.
The playback image can be magnified up to 8x when you press
the telephoto button. You can scroll around inside of the enlarged
image. Pressing the wide angle button will
shrink it back down again.
Here you can see the playback of a movie, which is saved in .AVI format. It gives you "VCR" like
buttons to control Rewind, Play, Fast-Foward, Stop, and volume.
You can edit the length of the movie clips.
From the Play menu you can start an automated Slideshow, enter the calendar index, create a
MotionPrint from a movie, edit a movie, use Keystone correction, correct the color of an image,
copy Favorite pictures to the FAVORITES folder in internal memory, set DPOF printing
information, Protect image(s) from deletion, change the time and date and image was captured,
Rotate portrait mode images, Resize images for web use or email, Trim (crop) images, include a
voice memo (Dubbing), and Copy images from the internal memory to an SD card or vice-versa.
Audio memos up to 30 secs. can be recorded and attached to still images.
You can also play back your audio-only clips. The
sound will be heard through the camera's built in speaker.
If you shot your picture at the highest resolution and need it for email or web use, then select
the Resize option and create a 5m (2560x1920), 3m (2048x1536), or VGA (640 x 480) size image.
