Driver Software (cont.)
![]() Whenever you have an active print job the Epson Status Monitor pops up and shows you the current ink levels and the progress of the printing. You can also click on the "Epson Printing Tips" button to read about ways to improve your printing speed and quality. |

|
Clicking on the "Details" button from the Status Monitor
will bring up this info page. Here you can see the name and model # for the ink
cartridges and their manufacture dates.

If you have enabled the "ink low" warning then this screen will popup whenever one
of your ink cartridges is getting low.

Checking the "Print Preview" option on the Main page is always a good idea.
I use the print preview function as my last visual confirmation that I have selected
the proper orientation and printing format. Unfortunately the Epson print preview
does not have a ruler scale or indicate the chosen paper size which would really
help you make sure that you also selected the right media type and size.
Application Software
EPSON Easy Photo Print![]()
The EPSON Easy Photo Print application is just that, an easy way for you to
preview and print your digital photos. The "Select Photos" page is a
thumbnail viewer where you visually browse your photos and select those that
you want to print.
![]()
After selecting the photos to print you then go to the "Select Paper" page and
pick the size and type of media (paper) that you will be printing on, the
style (borderless or bordered) and the print mode.
![]() The "Layout and Print" page lets you adjust the image to fill the page or zoom-in to a particular area. You can also print multiple images per page if desired. When you have the layout set the way you want it just click on the PRINT button and you're done ! |

This is the Photoshop PRINT Image Matching II file import filter. You enable it
from Photoshop's FILE menu: FILE - IMPORT - Print Image Matching
This import filter will only display JPEG or TIFF files that have valid PIM info embedded in the Exif header. You can select one file for import or check the "Import consecutively" option to select more than one image file. Photoshop does not retain the PIM information separately in the JPEG's header file when you import your PIM image. Instead it converts that information in the file and embeds a color space called EPSON RGB 2001. This profile supports all the PIM color advantages and enhancements. The PIM II plug-in works with Photoshop CS, 7.0 and Photoshop Elements 3.0. The required ICC profiles for the Stylus R1800 are installed with the plug-in (Windows) or the printer driver (Macintosh). |

|
The Stylus Photo R1800 is the first 13-inch-wide format printer in the U.S. capable
of printing directly onto inkjet printable CDs or DVDs. Users simply place these
disks in the printer’s front-loading CD tray and path.
Users can create their own CD or DVD designs, or utilize colorful backgrounds and images with the included Epson Print CD software. |
