The Windows driver software looks very much like other Epson printer drivers,
except it's now only three sections instead of four. Across the top
are "tabs" to jump between the sections of the driver; Main, Page
Layout and Maintenance.
The Main page lets you select the Quality Option (Draft, Text, Text & Image,
Photo and Best Photo. See below for the other main options.
Paper & Quality Options - Select a paper source (Sheet feeder, Roll paper, Manual -
Roll or CD / DVD).
Paper Type (Plain Paper, Photo Quality Ink Jet Paper, Enhanced Matte Paper,
Matte Paper - Heavyweight, Premium Glossy Photo Paper, Premium Luster Photo Paper,
Premium Semigloss Photo Paper, Velvet Fine Art Paper, Watercolor Paper - Radiant
White, Double-Sided Matte Paper, CD/DVD or CD/DVD Premium Surface).
Paper Size if -not- using the Borderless option, see below
for borderless choices. User defined allows you to set a custom size up to a
maximum of 12.95" x 129" for sheet, roll or manual-roll.
The Borderless paper sizes are shown here, note there is no custom setting so these
are the only borderless sizes available.
Print Options - PhotoEnhance (see next frame), Gloss (Auto or Full), Reverse Order,
Print Preview. The Gloss option controls the application of the Gloss Optimizer;
Auto covers only the image area, Full covers the entire sheet.
The PhotoEnhance option lets you adjust settings for digital camera images.
You can set more adjustments by clicking on the Advanced button for the Main page.
Tone settings are: Auto Correct, Sepia, Neutral Gray, Warm Gray and Cool Gray.
Digital Camera Correction (On or Off), if it's On then you can also select the
Smooth Skin option.
The Advanced options for the Main page. If you selected Photo you now have options for Photo, Best Photo or Photo RPM. Color Management shown here with the Color Controls enabled, lets you set a specific Gamma value as well as adjust the Brightness, Contrast, Saturation and the primary Cyan, Magenta and Yellow colors. The Color Mode can be Epson Standard, Epson Vivid or Adobe RGB. PhotoEnhance was explained above.
(Intelligent Color Management) option lets you use profiles for specific media
types, Epson supplies one for all of their paper types or you can create a custom
profile with optional color matching software applications.
The Page Layout page gives you options for Rotating 180°, Mirror Image,
Reduce / Enlarge, Number of Copies, Double-Sided printing,
Multi-Page or adding a Watermark.
The Maintenance page lets you start the Status Monitor, run Nozzle Checks, Head Cleaning, Align Printhead and see the Printer and Option Information. Clicking on the Speed & Progress button gives you options for High Speed Copies, Disable Status Monitor, Always Spool RAW Datatype, Show Progress Meter, set the temp folder for High Speed Copy cache and set your Monitoring Preferences for error messages, low-ink alerts and etc.
