Flipping the zoom control to the wide angle position enables the thumbnail index mode. Under the Setup menu, you can select to display 4, 9 or 16 thumbnails to quickly locate a desired image on your memory card. The green "movie camera" indicates that the image is a video file.

While viewing an image full screen, you can move the zoom control lever to the telephoto position and magnify an image from 1.5x to 4.0x (0.5x steps). You can move around the image using the 4-way selector to examine the picture for color, focus, etc.

You can also opt to rotate an image for correct display. This changes the orientation of the image and makes viewing much easier.

Shown above is a "cool" feature called FISHEYE. It is found under the Edit tab of the Play menu. This gives your images a look as if they were captured with a Fisheye lens.

Pressing the OK/MENU button when the file is a movie brings up this menu of options. The INFO option works the same as with still images, it controls the amount of overlay information displayed at the start of a movie. The Mode Menu accesses the Card and Setup menus, Erase will delete the movie from the xD card, and the MOVIE PLAY option allows you to play the movie in the camera.

Olympus Stylus Verve

While the movie is playing, the run time and total time is displayed in the lower right corner of the screen. You can then fast forward, rewind, and adjust the volume using the 4-way controller.
